Tyrrell, Mary Gertrude

April 13, 2012 – February 25, 2012
at the age of 94 years

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Mary Gertrude Tyrrell on February 25, 2012 in Hillside Village.  Mary was predeceased by her husband Percy Tyrrell, twin sister Betty Patzack, brother Edward and son Ron Lawrance. Mary was born in Bertle, MB on April 13th 1917, and married in Shell Lake, SK where the family farmed until they moved to Salmon Arm March 25, 1951.   They farmed in the Salmon Valley till Percy’s death in 1959.  Mary then sold the farm and worked in old age care homes till she retired and moved to her little house on 2nd St. SE where she loved her garden with all the tulips.  She will be sadly missed by sons Larry (Muriel) and Dave (Lil), daughter Flora (Harry), 13 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren, her nephews Joe (Mickie), Carmen (Diane) and niece Delia (Ed) plus great nieces and nephews.  A big thank you to Dr. Cindy Malinowski and the staff at Hillside for their special care in mom’s final days. No formal service by request, however there will be a family interment to be announced at a later date.
