Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews United Church in Lumsden, SK, February 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

With profound sadness the family of Dr. Susan Kathleen Young-Crawford announce her passing on February 14, 2018.
Sue was born in Lumsden, Saskatchewan on April 4th 1957. Following high school she attended Kelsey Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences graduating as a veterinary assistant.  Her passion for veterinary services took her to the University of Saskatchewan where she graduated as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. It was at the university where she met the love of her life and fellow veterinarian Bill Crawford. Following their marriage on December 22nd 1984 Bill and Sue worked as veterinarians in Madison, Wisconsin and Innisfail, Alberta. In 2003 they moved Qualicum Beach where they enjoyed the west coast lifestyle while Sue continued her work as a veterinarian in Nanaimo and Campbell River. In 2015 they left the ocean for the North Okanagan and making new friends and enjoying adventures with their herding dogs.
Sue will be forever remembered for her beautiful smile, great sense of humour and love for all things family. Sue is survived by her best friend and partner in life Bill, sons Michael (Kathy), Jason (Maggie) and daughter Eiren, her father Bill Young (Kathleen), sister Marion (Allan), brother Ron (Terri) and her granddaughters Kiara, Kalina and Loretta as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sue was predeceased by her mother Lydia and her sister Lorie-Jean. 
A very special thank you to the truly wonderful staff and volunteers of the North Okanagan Hospice Society and all of Sue’s care givers.
Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews United Church in Lumsden, February 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
No flowers by request of the family. Donations may be made in Sue’s name to NOHS, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

  1. I am so sad to hear this my condolences to the family sue was my vet when I lived in Innisfail she was a very caring person god bless she will be sadly missed

  2. I was greatly shocked to read of Susan’s passing. I remember her with affection from Vet College in Saskatoon and in Innisfail. She was just a super gal! My sincere condolences to Bill and the family.

  3. Bill and Family…… I am shocked to see this. I was Sue’s friend and hairdresser, in Red Deer. And she was my little dog Chrissy’s friend and Vet. What a huge loss for your family, I send you all love, hugs, and prayers.
