Martin, Margaret “Joan”

June 19, 1950 – September 12, 2025
at the age of 75 years:

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Joan (Margaret) Martin of Salmon Arm, B.C. beloved wife of Lee Reynaud. She was born June 19, 1950, in Ontario and passed away September 12, 2025 with her loving husband Lee by her side.

She is survived by husband Lee Reynaud, two stepchildren, Susan Martin (husband Michael Gosselin) and their sons Joel and Ryan; Tricia Martin (husband Barry Bergh); and also survived by two brothers Douglas Winter (wife Susan) and George Winter (wife Roberta).  She was predeceased by her husband Ted Martin.

Joan was very dedicated to her husband Lee and soon became an integral part of her new extended family who loved her dearly.

Joan’s passions also included her springer spaniel “Murphy” who she faithfully walked every day. Her garden gave her great enjoyment. She enjoyed many hours of weeding, watering, and tending to her plants particularly her roses.  She was a very active person making countless jars of preserves many of which were shared among her friends. She enjoyed book club, playing cards and visiting with friends and family, and was actively involved in the Salvation Army Christmas gift distribution for many years.

The family would also like to acknowledge and heartfully thank all of the people who attended Joan, the ambulance attendants, hospital staff and especially the kind Samaritan who provided CPR.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart and Stroke Association or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

  2. Joan was always able to sense need in others. She then thought of ways she could help. We enjoyed our weekly crib games with the women playing against the men. It was a time of laughter and interesting conversation. We often traded books and jigsaw puzzles sharing common interests in both. We’re so glad that Joan spent her last years in a happy marriage with Lee. She was a dear friend and we will miss her terribly.
