November 30, 1945 – October 17, 2025
Marguerite Judith (Judy) Kendall (nee Rogers) was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on November 30, 1945. She passed away at Shuswap Lake General Hospital on October 17, 2025.
After moving to Vancouver in the early 70s, she married Arvid Kendall in 1977. Together, they soon made Salmon Arm their home, beginning a new chapter in their lives.
Judy dedicated many years to her role as a school secretary, primarily serving at Salmon Arm West Elementary.
With Arvid, Judy found joy in movies, theater, music, and reading. Their retirement years were marked by annual journeys to Mexico. They both treasured their time at Piccadilly Terrace, sharing their love of films with fellow residents, and Judy enjoyed dabbling in small-pot gardening.
Following Arvid’s passing in late 2021, Judy channeled her energy into “Saturday Night Live” events at Piccadilly Terrace. Her passion for movies continued, and she was an avid reader, with her Kobo e-reader never far from her side.
After four years apart, Judy has now reunited with her beloved Arvid. Her family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the nurses on Level 4 at Shuswap Lake General Hospital for their compassionate care during her final weeks. Gratitude also to the Southern Interior Rotary Lodge in Kelowna for Judy’s stay while undergoing cancer treatments.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, a brother and two sisters, and is survived by a sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, her step-children, and four grandchildren. She will be missed by her friends and neighbours alike.
As per Judy’s wish, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy’s memory would be gratefully accepted by the Shuswap Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

So very sad to hear of Judy’s passing. There are many friends of Judy and Arvid’s who know them from Costa Sur in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. We spent many winters in Judy and Arvid’s company there. Judy’s spirit and great sense of humour will be missed. She had a great love of Puerto Vallarta, and the friends and staff at Costa Sur. Our condolences to Judy’s family and friends. Doug and Ken
We are sad to hear of Judy’s passing. She was a kind, generous woman.
To Judy’s many friends and family that she so diligently stayed in contact with…we share in your loss of a faithful gal. I met she and Arvid thru our involvement in the Shuswap Singers and when we relocated to Tappen, they became great neighbours. She never failed to remember special occasions or good advice. RIp Judy.
