A celebration of life and service will be held 10:30 am Saturday June 03 at Deo Lutheran Church, 1801 – 30 St NE, Salmon Arm, BC V1E 2Z5. Pastor Erik Bjorgan officiating.

It is with deep sadness that the family of Walter Adler announces his passing on May 23, 2017 at Hillside Village in Salmon Arm, BC at the age of 91.
Walter was born on March 25, 1926 in Velden Woerthersee, Austria and immigrated to Canada in 1960.
It was hard to support his family while learning English, but he was respected as an honest, hardworking and reliable man wherever he worked.
In 1987 he and his wife Monika moved from Calgary to Salmon Arm, BC, starting a new life in that beautiful town surrounded by mountains that felt like home for both of them. Here he experienced friendship and support from a wonderful community.
Walter loved camping, fishing, skiing, singing and spending time with children and grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Hillside Village for their loving, individual care and making his last weeks as comfortable as possible.
Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife, Monika, sister Margarete and niece Michaela (Manfred) in Austria, daughter Sylvia (Al), granddaughter Clarissa, grandson Germaine (Sarah) with great-grandson Brady, daughter Doris of Calgary and stepdaughter Yvonne (Ken) with their children Christopher and Elizabeth of Calgary.
A special thank you goes to Dr. Caroline Jones who accompanied his wife in the caring process during Walter’s many hospital stays, lending an understanding ear and professional support. It will never be forgotten.
Instead of flowers it is suggested to donate to Operation Smile, 3760 14th Avenue, Suite 202, Markham, ON L3R 3T, www.operationsmile.ca/canada.
