at the age of 80 years

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2019  1:00 pm at Fischer’s Funeral Services, Pastor Terry Baskin officiating.

ADRIAN, Wilfred Harvey, 80 years old, passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, in Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC, on December 24th, 2019 after a long period of illness and being cared for at home by his loving wife. He was born July 2, 1939 to Henry J. Adrian and Helen Adrian (nee Funk) in Capasin, Saskatchewan. Wilf worked at drilling water wells on the west coast of BC in the 1960’s and at various mills throughout his life. He also returned to farming in the West Kootenays in the 1970’s, something he had aspired to return to after growing up on a farm. He was known in his community as someone who loved lending a helping hand to those who needed it, capable of fixing almost anything mechanically, and he was committed to service in his local church community as well. He was a musician, having played in a band as a young adult, and shared his love of music through singing and playing guitar in the church and community throughout his life.  He is pre-deceased by his siblings Art (Ruby), George (Rose), Selma (Lorne) and his twin brother Wilmer (Kathy). He is survived by his wife, Carol (nee Friesen), daughter Colleen (Ian) and grandson Ross, son Randy (Joan), sister Mary (John), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank Dr. Adriaan Heunis, and the nurses and care workers from the Palliative Care Team in Salmon Arm and commend them for their support and the deep care that they showed for both Wilf and Carol during his prolonged illness.

  1. I am thinking of you, dear Carol, having experienced what you are now facing. I pray that you will find peace, rejoicing in the assurance that Wilf, like Hans, is resting in the arms of God.
Would have loved to attend the memorial, but I no longer venture out on my own other than in our city. Love and prayers. Phyllis Andersen Kelowna B. C.
