October 12, 1963 – December 21, 2022
at the age of 59 years:
Daniel was born in Peace River, AB and passed away in Salmon Arm, BC. He was predeceased by parents Mike and Helen Alexy, sister Terri-Lynn and loving dog Ollie. Loved ones left behind: loving wife Shelley, 2 spoiled dogs Luna & Lily, son Taylor, daughter Jenny (Nick), stepdaughter Jackie, step son Chris, mother-in-law Maggie of Fox Creek, AB, brothers Jim (Brenda) of Tangent, AB, David of Edmonton, sisters Deanne Jewell (Colin) of Grande Prairie, AB, Debbie Winders (Jerry) of Kamloops, BC as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, co-workers.
Dan was sick for a short time, colon cancer was the cause. He worked for Halliburton for numerous years around Alberta when he decided to go overseas. He loved traveling & seeing different countries, always bringing home amazing gifts for the kids (Christmas ornaments always included). We packed up the kids and moved to BC in 2014 to enjoy slightly warmer temperatures. When Covid hit he had to change his course of path and drove truck in the states, the latest company being Reimer Bros Trucking. He enjoyed his many destinations south of the border and would often let us know it’s warmer down there. He loved camping with his family, taking the kids fishing, and always baking cookies in the camper at night (the kids loved it). He would crank old time music & the kids loved it dancing around. He loved campfires & wiener roasts in our backyard. He loved watching new movies with the kids, especially the action ones. Dan was a family man, enjoyed quiet evenings with his wife, Lego building with his kids, loved to cook & bake (leaving the cleaning up to Shelley). He was an avid guitarist in his youth, passing that onto his first-born daughter Jenny. He spoiled his dogs rotten, treating them just as another kid. Gardening was a passion of his, always keeping a well manicured yard. He loved hunting with his brother Jim in Northern Alberta & his siblings get togethers wherever they may have happened. He loved his poker games with whoever was willing to lose in hopes he would win. Dan had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by everyone.
Thank you to Shuswap Lake Hospital, everyone that we encountered was amazing for the care they gave, Dr. Weiker thank you for all you have done, the calls to make sure we were ok. Melani French (nurse) for explaining terms to Jenny so we could all understand what was happening better. Reimer Bros Trucking thank you for all you have done, you guys are awesome. A big thank you to everyone reaching out and bringing flowers and food of all types.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fisher’s Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
Flowers/donations of your choice, any and everything will be greatly appreciated.
You’ll be missed Dan. Your a great man and a good friend. My heart goes out to your family so sorry for your loss.
Lots of love ❤️
Am so sorry to hear of Dans passing! I didn’t know. Dan snd I worked together in Indonesia around 2011, 2012 for Halliburton He was alway a real gentlemen and great company. Thoughts to his family.
So sad to hear of Danny’s passing. I met the Alexy clan way back in 1973,as my Mom remarried and moved us into the Three Creeks, Wesley Creek community. As a child he was an adventurous comical little pain in the rump, right alongside his older brother Jimmy, Leonard Wurst, and my little brother Darrell. They weren’t the 3 muskateers, they were the “4”. Last time I seen /talked to Danny was at his sister Terri’s funeral. It was as if nothing had changed, he was still the same kid, but now an adult. I will carry the memories of Danny with joy in my heart! Sending my deepest condolences to his wife Shelly, their kids, and Danny’s remaining siblings, Debbie, Dave, Deanne, and Jimmy. My tjhoughts are with you all, may your memories of him give you comfort. Farewell Danny, fly with the angels.
Saddened to hear of Danny’s passing, to young. I haven’t seen Danny for a long time, remembering him coming to the farm with his parents and siblings to visit. Sending prayers and hugs to his family. Danny’s cousin Dianne (Wurst) Ireland from Grimshaw, Alberta
