Blanchard, Camellia “Cam” Louise

October 20, 1953 – December 5, 2023
at the age of 70 years:

We are so sorry to announce the passing of Camellia Louise Blanchard (nee – Reed) on December 5,  2023 in the Salmon Arm Hospital. Forever loved by her sons Matthew (Jana), Sean, Ryan, and Ben (Stevie); her ten siblings, their families; and many friends. Our eldest sister Camellia left us suddenly to join her beloved husband Patrick Ross Blanchard, her parents, sister Jacquie, brother-in-law James Mitchell, and nephews Jeff and Nathan Reed in the heavens.

She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Sister and Friend. Camellia spent time studying the landscapes looking for her next vivid capture of scenery. Her photographs and poetry left behind are just as beautiful as her exquisite handwriting, reminding us that she tried her best to see the world through rose-coloured glasses. To capture her winsome soul in a few paragraphs is simply not enough for our mother.

It hurts to lay to rest such a beautiful soul, we know you are up in glory and will see you in the pines. She was the strongest, most heartfelt and caring mother that a son could have. We will always miss your smile, loving ‘Mama Bear’ ways, and magnificent mealtimes! In time, we will learn to live without you and embrace the love you’ve left behind.

The family would like to thank the Nurses at the Salmon Arm Hospital for the care and the compassion they gave to Cammy in her time of need. We also thank all of Cam’s special friends, old and new who gave her support, laughed and cried with her through the times that life presents us with. We will forever look for your face in the clouds Camellia.

Cam is at rest now and will always be with us.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
