Boast, Helen Birrell

December 1, 1931 – August 7, 2021
at the age of 89 years:

Helen Birrell Boast (nee Cunningham) December 1st, 1931 to August 7, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mama, at the age of 89 after a short but extremely courageous battle with cancer.
She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth in 2005. Helen will be remembered as a kind, loyal, brave, loving and beautiful person.
She leaves behind her five children (Peter, Tracy, Ian, Wendy and Cindy) her daughter in law Kathy (Ian), her twelve grandchildren and six (plus) great-grand children, her brothers and sister in Scotland and Canada as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Helen will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her from the Silver Creek Seniors Center, TOPS and KOPS, the Fifth Avenue Seniors Choir, Canoe Bingo and Crib and the residents of the Valley Mobile Home Park.
A special thank you from her children goes out to her partner in crime Brenda Holdaway, her doctors and the nurses from the Cancer Clinic at the Shuswap Hospital and all of the Palliative Nurses who came to her house and helped us through a very difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests donations to be made to the Kidney Foundation or the British Columbia Lung Cancer Association.
There will be a gathering to honor her memory on August 14th, 2021 at 1 o’clock pm at the Silver Creek Seniors Center (3048 Hornsberger Road, Salmon Arm (in Silver Creek).
Go rest high on that mountain with Dad, We love you Mama and will forever miss you.
