Buryniuk, Ernest Orest “Ernie”

at the age of 92 years

A funeral service and reception will be held on Tuesday June 7th, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Fischer’s Funeral Services, Salmon Arm B.C.  Interment will follow at Mt. Ida Cemetery.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, Ernest Orest Buryniuk.
Ernest passed away peacefully with his loving children by his side on May 31st, 2016 at Shuswap Lake General Hospital.  Ernest will be deeply missed by his 6 surviving children, Barry, Gerald, Ron, Kelly, Debbie and Lindie, as well as numerous grand children, great grand children and many wonderful friends.  Ernest was predeceased by his beautiful and loving wife Violet and his youngest son Terry.  Fondly known as ‘Papa’, Ernest will be remembered for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humour, which he carried into his last days. Ernest was very fortunate to spend his last few years dividing his time between Blind Bay, BC and St. Albert, Alberta… nearer to his family.  Ernest was born on Feb 7th, 1924 in the small town of Wakaw, Saskatchewan.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 7th, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Fischer’s Funeral Services, Salmon Arm B.C.  Ernie’s final resting place will be in the Mount Ida Cemetery, alongside his wife Violet…Together Forever.
The family would like to thank the Shuswap Lake General Hospital for their kindness and comfort while Ernest was in their care.  In lieu of Flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ernest’s name to the Shuswap Hospital Foundation, Box 265, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 4N3

  2. So sorry to hear of Papa’s passing. I remember him fondly for his great sense of humor. I sure would like one more bowl of his “sock soup” You all are in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
