  1. Reading of Gord’s passing saddened me, but also brought back many memories for me, of the early years, when we both started playing baseball in Abbotsford, the games, and the team parties out at the Fadden farm (a few of us even got involved with a bit of haying as well. In the later years (under 20), of baseball (at that time Gord played mostly at catcher), he said to me on many occasions, “if you can fire me bullets from short, I’ll get them”, and get them he did. Boy was he tough behind the plate, and his throws to 2nd were right on the money. Then later on we played softball together and had a lot of fun with “the Dirty Dozen”, before he went on to much greater achievements. I was reminded of another sport that we had played together, when a friend recently sent me a team picture of our grade 10 basketball days … there was Gord , a true testament to his athletic ability.
I hope that you are in your field of dreams, Barn Cat, and thank you for the memories.

  2. I am so sad to hear of Gordon’s passing. I always hoped that we would reconnect at some point. Gord and I went to school together and played different sports together as well. I have many good memories of our youth.
    Rest in peace Gordon!
