Vince passed away peacefully on July 28, 2016 in Penticton, BC.  He was born January 7, 1928 in Lucerne, Switzerland where he obtained his degree in Economics.  His curiosity and interest in travel led him to Rome where he worked at the Vatican and later on the Gold Coast of Africa before immigrating to Canada in 1952.  He met his wife Alice in Winnipeg and would soon marry and have 7 children. He studied at the University of Manitoba where he obtained his embalmers certification and started a lengthy career in the funeral business with Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Home. Vince relocated to Kelowna, BC in 1977 where he worked at Days Funeral Services.  His family followed in 1978 and in 1980 moved to Penticton, B.C. where Vince would finish out his career working for Penticton Funeral Chapel and Everden Rust Funeral Services.  Vince was sadly predeceased by his sons Leslie (1986) and Gerry (1992). He is survived by his wife of 61 years Alice and fondly remembered by his children Patrick Fischer (Susie) of OK Falls, Yvonne Caldwell (Jim) of Kelowna, Vince Fischer Jr. (Tammy) of Salmon Arm, Annamaria Collopy (Rob) of Langley and Kathy Haughian (Richard) of Penticton. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Special thanks to the caring staff on the 2nd floor at the Hamlets and Dr. Paisley.
