Foulkes, Alan Stanley Edwards

December 23, 1929 – June 25, 2018
at the age of 88 years.

Alan died peacefully at the Piccadilly Park Place senior’s home on Monday, June 25th, 2018. He was 88 years old.  Alan was predeceased by his wife Marjorie (Marnie) Foulkes and eldest daughter Tracy Hewitt. He is survived by two remaining daughters Dalyce Comm of Calgary, Alberta and Heather Salusbury of Irvine, California, whom were with him in his final days.  He is also suvived by his grand and great grandchildren.  Alan was born in Vancouver and grew up in the Roberts Creek and Sechelt areas of coastal British Columbia. He was the eldest of four brothers, of whom Vincent Foulkes and Paul Foulkes survive him.  He will be missed.
He served in the Royal Canadian Airforce from 1952 to 1980 and remained an aviation enthusiast all his life. After leaving the Air Force, Alan and Marnie spent five years travelling the country in their 5th wheel before settling for retirement in Salmon Arm.
The family wish to thank the wonderful staff at Andover and Piccadilly who made such contributions to the comfort and care of his last years. No service by request.

  1. I went to Elphinstone High School with Alan at Gibsons, B.C. and remember his friendliness and his high spirits. My brother, Patick Slinn, and I send our condolences to his daughters.

  2. So sorry to hear of Alan’s, sometimes called Sam, death. 2017 and 2018 have seen a lot of loss for your families. I knew all three, Alan, Marnie and Tracy. They talked of you both and always kept us up to date on children, grandchildren and greats. So sorry for your loss and may they rest in peace.
