Friesen, Donald Harry “Don”

at the age of 77 years

A celebration of life has been planned for Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 11 am at Sorrento Memorial Hall.

Donald Harry Friesen passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2019, at the age of 77. He will be missed by the love of his life, Margo Friesen, daughters Sherry (Steve) Knoppers, Corinna Friesen, stepdaughters Karen Saunders, Lori (Mark) Kelly, and Tara (Logan) Burns, grandchildren Selina Kelly, Sierra Fitch, Jordyn Knoppers, Robyn Fitch, Jacob Knoppers, and Brandi Fitch. He is also survived by his brother Jack Friesen and sister Anne (Norm) Moffat. He is remembered for his love of life and how much he loved to laugh. His faith in God shaped how he lived and was evident by the way he cared for everyone around him. If you wish to contribute to Don’s legacy, his wishes were to further the kingdom of God. Donations can be made to the Gideons, Samaritan’s Purse, the Canadian Sunday School Mission, or a charity of your choice. A celebration of life has been planned for Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 11 am at Sorrento Memorial Hall.

Dear Margo, we are both remembering all the years we worked with Don driving for PWT in the Rockies; but our most special and precious memory of Don is the day he performed our wedding ceremony at the Banff Springs Hotel coming up almost 25 years ago in January. Sending you hugs and condolences from Edmonton.

    He was a good man and I always looked to him for good advise. He always had a good sense of humour and was kind and caring. He will be greatly missed.
