GARAGAN NEE CAMERON, Patricia “Pray, hope, and don’t worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.” St. Padre Pio It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Patricia. She spent her life selflessly giving her time and love to all those who knew her. For many years, she was a spunky secretary at St. Patrick’s and St. Angela’s schools in Calgary, AB. During the summers, she surrounded herself at the Shuswap with her children and grandchildren. She fought a private, very courageous battle against pancreatic cancer with all the dignity and strength of a champion. Her greatest love, Eddie Garagan, stood gallantly by her side, holding her up when she was weak and showering her with his undying love. Their marriage took on a new purpose during the battle, and only a covenant sealed by God could produce such fervour, patience, and endurance. Her children were blessed to be by her side, watching, holding, and learning through her final year. She took her last breath with the highest dignity in her own home at the Shuswap where love encompassed her. God greatly blessed her with a loyal husband of nearly fifty-five amazing years. Their faith and love brought forth six children who honoured and loved her. Her children all went on to follow in their parents’ footsteps and are blessed in marriages of their own: Shannon and Victor Santos, Stephen and Genelle Garagan, Bryan and Shauna Garagan, Kerry-Anne and Wes Walz, Allene and Dave vanOirschot, and Robert and Shawna Garagan. Our Glorious Father bestowed a field of flowers for Pat to water with her love and kindness with twenty-one grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Brandon (and his wife Brittany), Kaelene, Kelvin, Braydon, Jaedyn, Broedy, Brehna, Aymon, Aislynne, Kyleigh, Makenna, Gennae, Kaeven, Siobhan, Seamus, Payton, Cheyne, Claira, Wrexyn, Brielle, Quinn, Finnegan, Iona, and baby S. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will forever hold their countless, loving memories of her in their hearts forever. We give thanks to our Heavenly Father for seventy-six years of an amazing saint walking amongst us, showing the way to You and leaving a legacy of faith, hope, and prayer. Her fight is over; she has won! “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
