It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing on March 31, 2019 of Coby (Jacoba) Geddes (nee Sluymers).
Coby was born in Heusden Holland on November 5, 1943 and was the youngest of eight, born to Gerrit & Francisca Sluymers.  The family immigrated to Canada and arrived in Grande Prairie, Alberta in 1953.
Coby married A.C. Geddes in Grande Prairie on February 23, 1963 and moved to Fort Nelson for a short time before moving to Hudson’s Hope, B.C. where they raised their family.
Coby loved playing fastball and curling.  She was also an amazing cook and loved to bake.  In 1984 the family moved to Sicamous, B.C. where Coby opened up Fast Eddie’s restaurant and later on ran the restaurant in the Petro Can for nine years.
In 2005, Coby and A.C. retired to their hobby farm in Lumby.
Coby will be lovingly remembered by her husband A.C. and by her daughters Judy (Bruce) Lomond of Sherwood Park, AB, Terri (Guss) Martin of Salmon Arm, BC and Michele (Keith) Tucker of Armstrong, BC and by her nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and by her brothers Frans Sluymers of Lumby, BC and Gerrit Sluymers of Grande Prairie, AB.  She was predeceased by her mother Francisca in 1960 and by her father Gerrit in 1977, her brothers Adrian and Abe and sisters Jo, Rita and Audrey and by her great granddaughter Sienna.
A celebration will be held for Coby on May 19, 2019 @ 2 p.m. at their farm in Lumby.  1383 Trinity Valley Road, Lumby, B.C.
Special thanks to the wonderful care Coby received at the Cancer Clinic in Vernon, Shuswap Lake General Hospital and Bastion Palliative care.  Also, to Dr. John Jensen and Dr. Jack Beech for all the support given to Coby and her family.
