Graham, John Daniel

January 24, 1946 – October 20, 2022
at the age of 76 years:

John Daniel Graham, born January 24, 1946, died peacefully at home on October 20,2022, after a short battle with cancer.

John moved to Salmon Arm from Delta in 1975 for a job with the City of Salmon Arm Works Department.  He was employed there until he retired in 2004.  John enjoyed working in his yard and took great pleasure from the flowers and the birds that would stop at his feeders.  After he retired, he walked dogs for the SPCA.  He spent many hours walking the dogs and helping out with lawn care and repairs.  He loved “his dogs” and tried to go as often as he could, 2-3 times a week.

John will be dearly missed by his wife of 55 years, Linda Graham, and their two children Christine Bootsma (Jon) and Daniel Graham.  His two grandchildren Riley Bootsma (Alex and Olivia) and Rachel Bootsma will miss their grandpa who always had a special place in his heart for them.

In lieu of flowers, John would like donations to the SPCA in his memory.

  1. Hello,

Even though I had only known John for a year being with the SPCA, I felt like it was truly a life time. He was an amazing friend. He offered the same warmth and love with all of us as he did with our animals. My favorite thing about John was that no matter the dog and how they reacted, John always had a cookie in his pocket and always said to them “oh just you wait, we will be friends soon”. The amount of care and love he showed each dog was unparalleled. Not to mention, he would pick up garbage on his walks! I know I speak for every one of the staff, volunteers, and animals past and present that he will truly be missed. We all loved him very much and feel incredibly luckily that he touched our lives.

  2. Hi. I was very saddened to hear of John’s passing. I met him in 2021 while volunteering at the SPCA. We worked together on yard maintenance & installing cabinets as well as excersizing the dogs. John was a very nice man, I’m lucky to have known him briefly, my condolences to his friends & family for your loss.

  3. Linda and family, so sorry to hear of John’s passing. we were shocked to hear this Take care

  4. Hi there, I have known John for a number of years and was deeply saddened by his passing. I was hoping to find out date/time of a service if there was one? Condolences to Linda – John was an amazing man and I truly enjoyed all our appointments together. I will miss him
