Groot, Randall Jay “Randy”

August 6, 1949 – October 19, 2012
at the age of 63 years

Open House:  Sat., Oct. 27, 2012    1:00 pm     Fischer’s Funeral Services

On October 19, 2012 Randy lost his battle with cancer.
He is peaceful now and would want that you do not cry and just hang on to the wonderful memories you have of him.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Susan, children Kim and R.J., two grandchildren, Brad and Collin, family and many dear friends.
We will cherish every moment we had together. He was always there to offer a helping hand to others but rarely would ask for help himself. Randy was a very sensitive man, a true original that can not and will not be duplicated.
Please join us for a celebration of Randy’s life on Saturday, October 27th at 1:00 pm at Fischer’s Funeral Services, 4060-1st Avenue, SW, Salmon Arm, BC.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Randy’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, PO Box 3451, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 4S2.

  1. My condolences, Randy was an usher at my wedding and he fainted because the service was too long. Randy and I went to the world fair together in Seattle.

    Way too young.

  2. Dear Susan, There’s nothing we can say or do that will take away the pain but our thoughts are with you. We will miss Randy, he always held the groups together and was the centre of dinner parties. He will not be forgotten. Ellen Visser & Peter Steiner.

So sorry to hear your news. Yvonne mentioned that Randy had called the

I have always loved Randy’s quiet way and very humorous outlook.
I just remember him smiling and laughing a lot. I will certainly cherish the good memories. I do know that Uncle Corky and Aunt Irene really enjoyed Randy and you.

  11. To Susan and her children and grandchildren and Randy’s extended family – For Shelley and myself and my siblings, I want to pass on our sincere condolences for your great loss. I saw the obit in the Edmonton Journal and was very shocked as I did not know even know Randy was ill. None of my siblings were aware of that either. We all wish you comfort amidst your grief and as the obit suggested we will each hang on to our own memoires of Randy. Love from Bill & Shelley, Elaine & Chris, John and Lois, Jim and Arvilla.
