August 8, 1930 – March 18, 2019It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Robert(Alvin)Hall at the age of 88. On Monday, March 18 as the sun was rising, our beloved went to sleep peacefully surrounded by his family. Alvin was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa, he was the pillar of our family and our loss is palpable.
Alvin was born on August 8, 1930 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He ventured out to BC as a young man and found work in Vancouver at Magregor’s Warehouse and later at Canada Starch in Burnaby. He met the love of his life, Audrey, in 1952 in Vancouver, BC and they wed June 20, 1955. They had 4 children together and eventually settled in Maple Ridge, BC. He was a business minded man who opened a family drive-in burger shop in Maple Ridge and when he moved to the Salmon Arm area in 1980, started a janitor service in which he held a contract with the Centenoka Mall for many years. Alvin enjoyed traveling, fishing, woodworking, birds, gardening, tinkering on cars and reading books, but he got the most enjoyment out of spending time with his family, including his pets, and telling stories from his younger years. Alvin was also Santa at the Centenoka Mall for many years and he always got so much joy from making the little ones smile.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Audrey, his 4 children, Lavern Stoesz, Kerry Hall, Garth (Val) Hall, Belinda (Jamie) Zack, his 7 grandchildren, Tracy Danbrook (Chris McElgunn), Brandi (Josh) Wood, Kristy Hall, Christopher Zack (Chell Bara), Brandon Zack, Cody Zack (Jess Daniels), and Samantha Zack (Francis Thomas) as well as his 13 great grandchildren, Levi and Caden Danbrook, Cohen and Ethan Wood, Savannah L’Heureux and Mackenzie Hall, Taylor, Riley and Dylan Zack, Haidyn Zack, Jaxon Zack, Zoey and James Zack. In 2010, Alvin was reunited with his first born daughter, Sandy (Eric) Wells and a special bond was formed.
We are forever grateful for the lessons he taught us and the strength he bestowed upon us all, for that is how we will get through such a difficult loss.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Shuswap Lake General Hospital with special thanks to Dr’s. Jones and Levins and to nurses Kim, Brian, Audrey and Glenda. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

I love & miss you Grandpa, He got me into being the biggest hockey fan when i was a kid i always went over to grandpas house to watch hockey sitting on his lap, or else he would take me out on the lake fishing 😀 Greatest man in the world who was more than a grandfather to me 😀 one of my best friends that loved gardening & hockey like I do .
