at the age of 78 years.
A celebration of Carol’s life and memory will be held Fischer’s Funeral Home July 4, 2018 at 10:30 am.
On June 23, 2018 beloved Carol Ann Truce Hoover (Smith) peacefully passed away surrounded by family and loved ones.
Carol was a lifelong resident of the North Okanagan living primarily in the Armstrong and Salmon Arm areas. Carol loved many things including gardening, sewing, and cooking. She had numerous family and friends that enjoyed many fabulous meals and laughs around her and Lorne’s table, and she always had room for one more.
Carol will be dearly missed and remembered by Lorne, her husband of 57 years, son Irvine, daughter Janell, granddaughters Meaghan and Lindsay, sister Jan (Ched), brother Doug (Penny), sister-in-law Carolyn, and numerous much loved nieces and nephews. Although she is no longer with us, Carol is now reunited with her predeceased brother Wayne Smith, and parents Drell and Myrtle Smith.
The family would especially like to thank Dr. Lorenz and the staff at the Shuswap Lodge Care Facility for their exceptional care and loving support.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing are encouraged to make a donation in Carol’s name to a charity of their choice.
Janell- I was so sorry to hear of your Moms passing, my deepest condolences to you and your family. I’ve missed my chats with her, she always had time for a little chat! She was always so proud of you and your girls. She always said she could count on you and you were only a call away. You know your Mom she would never want to bother you or cause you to worry. Your Mom was a strong woman, she had a big heart and was always concerned about other residents. I will really miss her. She gave me a Yule log a few Christmases ago, of course she couldn’t light the candles because of her O2. But each Christmas I put new candles and it makes me feel grateful that I had the opportunity to get to know both your parents!
