September 16, 1937 – May 23, 2022
at the age of 84 years:

Donna Lorraine Houda, age 84, passed away on May 23, 2022.  She was born September 16, 1937 in Pincher Creek, AB to Manley and Yvonne Robertson.  She was married to the love of her life, Joseph Alexander Houda in July 1955 who preceded her in death in 2010.  Donna and Joe lived many years at Adams Lake.  There they raised three children.  Donna and Joe spent many years camping with family and friends.  Many special holidays were spent at Mara and Neskonlith Lake.  Donna loved music and was an artist at heart.  She loved to garden and always had a beautiful yard to prove it.  She couldn’t hear a song without singing along.

Donna was a wonderful Mom to Debbie (Robert Oakland), Dale (Holly) and James.  She leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved her dearly.

Many thanks to the staff at Mt. Ida Mews and Parkside Retirement Living for the loving care Mom received.

There will be no service.  Interment will be in the summer.

  1. My utmost condolences to all the family, I met your mother in 1955 just after her and Joe got married in1955, when on a weekend pass from Canadian Army, with her brother-in-law Tom Houda! We use to come often to the pass to have fun at the dance hall at the lake! After marrying Patrica Maslen from the pass in 1961 on my return from overseas service, use to visit Donna and Joe at their home at Adams Lake and summer holidays at Marra Lake with our children and hers, many great memories for sure! Use to stop in Chase and visit your Mother coming and going to Alberta to see our grand children, damm Covid we lost contact! Was planning a trip this summer 2023 and was going to stop to see Donna and was tracking her whereabouts and came across her obit! Again my utmost condolences on your (our) loss, yes she will be certainly be missed by all!
    My best regards to all!
