Janzen, Karin Louise

September 25, 1948 – March 16, 2023
at the age of 74 years:

*A Celebration of Life for family and close friends will be held later in the Spring.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Karin Louise Janzen announces her sudden passing on March 16th, 2023, at the age of 74 years old in Salmon Arm, B.C.

Karin is survived by her son Spencer (Janet), daughter Gillian (Gerry) and her grandkids that she cherished more then anything – Nicola, Morgan, Owen, Logan, Anika, Brookelyn and Austin. Also, by her special puppy, Tessa, who has made these last few years so much more enjoyable for her. She was predeceased by her forever love, Helmut in March of 2022.

Karin is fondly remembered as a loving mother and Oma who was devoted to her family. A gentle soul, Karin possessed a quiet strength, a positive outlook and was always friendly and would greet everyone with a smile. She was a kind, caring, generous woman who never hesitated to volunteer if needed. She was the most beautiful, meticulous seamstress and had a passion for sewing, quilting and crafting.

We would like to thank the wonderful paramedics and the Emergency staff at Shuswap Lake General Hospital for your care and support of our dear Mom.

We love you and miss you. Till we meet again.
Peaceful be your rest, dear Mother
‘tis sweet to breathe your name –
As in life we loved you dearly
And in death we do the same.

  1. To Karin’s Family,

Mort & I were so sad to hear of Karin’s passing. We are also residents of Hopkins Meadow, and knew Karin to be a kind, gentle, and a very special lady, who was always positive, and for sure, always had a smile for everyone.

We will miss our little chats on good weather mornings when we sit outside with a second cup of coffee and Karin pass by, taking Tessa for a walk. Tessa liked to stop and say hello as well.

We send our most sincere condolences to you, her children and grandchildren. She spoke of you often and was so very proud of you all. The loss of a Mother and Grandmother is a huge one. May all of the special memories you have give you some comfort in the coming days and weeks.

  2. I am very sorry to hear this sad news. I worked with Karin many years ago and remember her fondly. She always spoke of Spencer, Gillian and Helmut with great affection. I know you will miss her always.
