Jenish, Diane Noreen

December 27, 1941 – September 18, 2023
at the age of 81 years

 
On September 18, 2023, Diane Jenish passed away at the age of 81 with her daughters by her side.
 
Diane was born in Sointula, BC to Taimi and Joel Hamley. Diane was the youngest of three children. She was predeceased by her sister June Peterson and her brother Dennis Hamley.
 
Diane grew up in the Coquitlam area where in 1963, she met the love of her life, Ken. Diane and Ken raised their two children Wendy Brown and Jenny Williamson (Allen) in Clearwater BC. They moved to Salmon Arm in 1992.
 
Ken passed in December 2021. Shortly thereafter Diane was diagnosed with cancer, which she fought with tremendous Finnish sisu. Her battle came to a peaceful end on September 18, 2023. She will be remembered as a beautiful, kind and gentle woman, friend, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her, particularly her four grandchildren Mitchell, Tamara, David and Adam.

  1. I have so many memories of good times we shared with Diane, Ken, Wendy & Jenny. Remembering the fun times – there were lots of them. Diane was a beautiful and sincere person and will be missed.

  2. I am sorry for your loss. I had the privilege to assist Dianne as a Community Health Care worker. We always had a few minutes to spare to talk movies . It was a pleasure to know her.

  3. So sorry for your loss Jenny, Wendy, and family. I was lucky enough to have met Diane a few times, she was such a kind person, she will be missed. It’s comforting to know she spent her final weeks with her daughters by her side. Thinking of you all.

  4. She was a lovely woman. Always welcoming to her home. She taught me a few recipes which I still use to this day. Such a sad loss.

  6. I’m so sorry, Wendy…for all of you and the sadness of your loss. I only got to meet your Mom a couple of times; wish I could have gotten to know her.
