Kalinek, Minnie Rose Mary

July 30, 1948 – February 14, 2024
at the age of 75 years:

I regret to announce the passing of Minnie Kalinek on February 14, 2024. Minnie was born on her grandfather’s schooner named “Only Way” while out whale hunting.

She lived most of her younger years in Inuvik, NWT. She met her lifelong husband, Kuno and had two children. They moved their family to Salmon Arm in 1983 to retire. Minnie enjoyed sewing Inuit crafts and later joined the Farmer’s Market and Christmas bizarres. She enjoyed seeing all the people that set up and those who stopped by her table to visit. Minnie and Kuno drove to Inuvik in the summer numerous years and would return to Salmon Arm to share her wonderful stories.

Minnie is predeceased by her husband Kuno and son Rudy. She will be missed by her daughter Eunice (Rob), grandchildren Misty (James), Cody (Vanessa), Kiefer (Kirstyn), great grandchildren Rylan, Austin, Rhett and numerous extended family members.

Thank you to all the care staff on the 1st floor at Bastion Place and also the Community Home Care staff.
