Funeral Service – Saturday, January 10, 2015, New Life Outreach, Tappen, BC. Interment – Tappen Cemetery.
Dorothea celebrated her 92nd birthday December 11th and went home to be with her Lord & Savior Saturday, December 20th after a short illness. Dorothea was born in 1922 to Edna & Ernest Hine.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Leonard, mother Edna, father Ernest and infant children. She is survived by her children Norman (Wendy), Allan (Theresa), Terry (Elton), Patricia (Dennis), seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 10th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. from the New Life Outreach Church, Tappen. Interment will follow at Tappen Cemetery. Memorial donations in Dorothea’s name may be made to the New Life Outreach Church, 4409 Trans-Canada Highway, Tappen, BC, V0E 2X2.
The family would like to take this time to thank the staff in Cottage #5 and the nurses at Hillside Village for their love and care of Dorothea for the 4 ½ years she was there. It truly was her home. She loved doing puzzles and had her special table there. Thank you also to Dr. DuPlessis and Dr. Bonthuys for their care of our mom.

Sincere condolences to Dorthea’s’s family and friends. We knew her for only a few short months when our father moved into Cottage 5 at Hillside Village. He was a little nervous being the “new boy”, but Dorthea welcomed him so graciously and kindly, he felt at home. She was always pleasant and sweet, and so dedicated to her puzzles.
