Linklater, Donald James “Jim”

LINKLATER WJanuary 17, 1921 – April 20, 2016
at the age of 95 years

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Donald James Linklater, also known as Jim passed away on Apr 20, 2016 in Salmon Arm, BC.  Born Jan. 17, 1921 in Lampman, SK to Don and Florence Linklater.  In 1939 Jim enlisted in the RCAF where he became a Flight Lieutenant.  He served two tours from 1941-1943 he was awarded The Distinguished Flying Cross. He married Beryl Gething in 1946 raised four sons Garry, Neil, Lawrence, Jack and family friend Henry Jones. Beryl Passed away in 1985. He married May Harper in 1987 and she passed away in 1989.  Anne Henriksen was his partner from 1990 until passing in 2015. Early 1990’s he moved from Dawson Creek, BC to Salmon Arm, BC where he resided there until his passing.  He was an avid curler and golfer he belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion for many years and participated in many civic functions.  He had many ventures and he loved spending time with family and friends.  He is predeceased by parents Don & Florence Linklater, brother Jack Linklater, sister Dora Turner, wives Beryl & May and partner of many years Anne Henriksen.  He is survived by his sisters Anne Moran, Donna Walker, sons Garry (Bev), Neil, Lawrence (Carmen), Jack (Julie), and family friend Henry Jones (Myrna), several grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great great grandson.  He will be sadly missed by us all.
