at the age of 71 years: “There is only one happiness in this life: to love and be loved.”
Daniel Carl Lywood passed away suddenly at the age of 71 in Salmon Arm, BC on December 10, 2024. Dan was born in Lindsay, Ontario on April 26, 1953.Dan will be lovingly remembered by his wife Laurie (Schindler) of 51 years, sons Christopher and Brandon (Lauren), daughter Jamie, brothers Timothy (Julie) and William (Michelle), and his faithful companion, Chili. Dan had a special place in his heart for Scott and Jocelyn and considered them to be his own children. He will be missed by a large extended family of nieces and nephews, friends, and business associates.
Dan was bigger than life, an especially kind, generous person, giving of himself and his time to benefit others who needed help and he touched many lives. He was a devoted family man, and highly valued time spent with loved ones. He was proud of his close-knit children and the love in his marriage. He was a social butterfly, always up for a “litter dink”, and enjoyed having friends and family around him. He loved his life, working his logging business with his son Brandon, rising early daily and heading out to the bush. It was a life well-lived.
The family would be grateful to welcome visitors and well-wishers to an outdoor open house on Sunday, December 22 at the family home at 25 Schindler Road on Grandview Bench, starting at 11:00 a.m.
In loving memory and forever in our hearts, donations in Dan’s honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.

Dan’s devotion to you and your kids was apparent in all parts of life. He was also a wonderful neighbor who didn’t hesitate to help whenever it was needed, often refusing to be paid . Julie and I had the pleasure of knowing the Lywoods. Dan, Vivian, and I all shared birthdays within 1 day of each other, and celebrated togeather. Central Hdw. was never the same when Dan and I both worked there. Lots of laughs. Goodby old friend
