Marchiel, Evelyn Jean Marie

May 13, 1947 – April 29, 2022
at the age of 74 years:

In loving memory of my mother Evelyn Jean Marie Marchiel. She was born May 13, 1947, and passed away on April 29, 2022, in Salmon Arm, BC. Mom is leaving behind her partner Rod, son Justin (Diana), and her 2 grandchildren, as well as many extended family members.

Evelyn grew up in a Montmartre, Saskatchewan. After graduation she moved to Alberta and worked in jewelry, dental, and banking. Evelyn moved to Chase in the early 1980’s where she continued banking but eventually changed careers and worked in insurance. Living in a small town (Chase), Evelyn was a friend to everyone and always had a smile and great story to share. She always loved a good joke or a game of cards.  Retirement brought Evelyn closer to the North Shuswap and then eventually to Salmon Arm to be closer to her grandchildren. Nana will be missed dearly.

  1. Rod & Family, so sorry to see this, our thoughts are with you at this sad time. We happened to see Evelyn in late Oct of 2021 in Salmon Arm and had a lovely conversation with her. She will be missed.

  2. Justin what a lovely tribute to your mom. She was all that and more. I know you were her pride and joy. Rod I’m so so sorry for your loss. Diana you gave her two cherished grandchildren. You will all miss her terribly, keep her memories close to your heart. She will always be dear to me and I will always remember her smiling face. She is gone far to soon and I’m so sorry

  3. Dear Rod, Justin, Diana, Corbin and Raquel

So sorry to hear of her passing
She was truly a beautiful person inside and out

Evelyn was my Aunt and I spent a lot of my childhood with her
It’s very easy to say she became my favorite Auntie. As our paths in life went in different directions we lost touch but we were able to reconnect yet again it seemed like no time had passed between us we were as close as we were years ago. She will forever be in my heart
    Rest easy now Auntie

Justin Diana and Family know that you were the best part of her life she was always bragging about your accomplishments and how proud she was of you all.

  4. Dear Rod, Justin, Diane, Raquel & Corbin,

Thinking of you during this difficult time and sending you our sincere condolences. May precious memories you shared bring you comfort during this time of sadness. Evelyn was an incredible friend for over 50 years and will be greatly missed.

    Our deepest sympathies,
    Emilia & Guy
