Neufeld, Marie

December 11, 1945 – November 2, 2023
at the age of 77 years:

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, 2pm at Summitt Baptist Church, 1975 Summitt Drive, Kamloops, BC

Marie was born in Russell, Manitoba and passed away peacefully in Kamloops, BC after a long battle with cancer.

She was predeceased by her parents, parent-in-laws, three brothers, two brother-in-laws, one sister-in-law, three nephews and one niece.  Marie is survived by her husband Lenard of 58 years, daughter Teri (Craig), son Kent (Cindy) and grandchildren Ben and Hunter.

Marie was an excellent homemaker, office administrator and handed out demo samples at Costco but her favourite role other than being a Mom and Grandma was working at the Christian Bookstore in Kamloops.  She enjoyed road trips with friends and family, travelling to tropical sun destinations and several cruises where she could enjoy fine dining every evening and see the shows.  A highlight vacation was when she took her daughter and daughter-in-law to New York City for a girls’ trip where they created many fun memories.  Prior to her illness she travelled to Israel with Len in February 2019 and really enjoyed this.  Marie was very active and at the age of 65 she joined Boot Camp classes at the local gym which inspired the younger participants.  She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed baking pies, reading and watching home improvement shows.

Marie was a Christian, attended church for over 60 years and was involved in many church activities.  She read her bible and devotional daily until a few days before she went into hospice.

Donations can be made in Marie’s name to the Kamloops Hospice Association where she spent her last days.  This hospice is a beautiful, warm and calming environment with compassionate staff who are very gifted at providing end-of-life care and support to the family.

  1. Dear Len, I have fond memories of attending your wedding in 100 Mile House, BC. Although miles separated over the years, I remember Marie faithfully keeping us updated in the growing up years of your children. In later years John and I remember the lovely visit in our home in Calgary. The tribute to Marie was absolutely lovely! I learned a many things about Marie that I wasn’t aware of. Thankful for the confidence and hope we have in Christ that we will meet again in heaven. Praying for you and your family.

  2. Dear Lenard, Teri, Craig, Kent, Cindy, Ben & Hunter, Our hearts go out to each one of you as you sorrow the loss of your beautiful wife, mum & grandma. Every time we spent with Marie was delightful. We never heard an unkind word from her and was always so uplifting with her beautiful smile and warm giggle. Please know that we care about each one of you and we are praying that you will feel God’s loving arms wrapped around you always. Love from Glenn & Joyce
