at the age of 88 years:     

The family of Vern Oakes is sad to announce his passing on April 13, 2023, at the age of 88 years, in the Shuswap Lake General Hospital.

Husband, Father, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, Brother, and Uncle, Vern is survived by his loving wife Gina, daughters; Wanda, Gennifer, Barbara, Kathleen, and Shannon and sons; Mark, Agostino, and Matthew. Loved by many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

Vern’s legacy is his hard work ethic, having a good family life with fun memories, good morals, and kindness towards animals and people.
The family sincerely sends special thanks to Dr. Goldburg and the nursing staff in the hospital.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
