May 28, 1935 – May 31, 2019
at the age of 84 years

Elgin was born May 28, 1935 to Catherine Alice (Simpson) and Isaac Frances Preston of Decker, Manitoba and passed away on May 31, 2019 at Salmon Arm, BC at the age of 84 years.
He married Verna Evelyn Wale on July 9, 1955 and they shared 54 wonderful years together.  Elgin lived and farmed in Manitoba until 1970 when he and Verna moved their family to Kamloops, BC.  He worked at the IWA Mill until his retirement when they moved to Clearwater, BC.  His last few years were spent in Parkside Manor, Chase, BC and Hillside Village, Salmon Arm, BC.
Elgin is predeceased by his loving wife Verna and daughter Linda.  Elgin will be sadly missed by his daughters Patricia and Kathy (Ryan), son Wayne, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, his aunt Lillian Slimmon, cousin Gloria Ross, many family members in Manitoba as well as many wonderful friends.
His sense of humour and spirit we will always remember and treasure the memories.
Thank you to the great staff that took fantastic care of Elgin.  As Elgin would say “I am going home now to Shoal Lake Manitoba where I know everyone.  I am at peace now”.
