Pring, Allan James

October 16, 1945 – June 23, 2023
at the age of 77 years:

We are saddened to announce the passing of Allan James Pring, 77, of Salmon Arm B.C. on June 23, 2023.

Allan was born in Vancouver, B.C. on October 16, 1945 to Esther & Herbert Pring. He was predeceased by his parents & 2 younger brothers, Clifford and Herbert.

Al spent the majority of his first 40+ years in Surrey, B.C. self employed as a truck driver until 1987 when he moved to Barrie, Ontario and spent the next 30+ years. Al made his way back home to B.C in 2021 to surround himself with family. He is survived by his younger sister Angela (Dwayne) Friess, his 3 daughters Tanya Paterson, Cherise (Doug) Nolin, Michele Kraatz, 7 grandchildren – Kyle, Kailee (Jeff), Chelsey, Brent, Ashley, Tyler, Bradley and great grandson, Jaxson, along with cousins, nephews, a niece, his 1st wife Brenda and 2nd wife Lynn and family. His love & witty character will be missed by all who knew him.

Throughout the years his love for fishing, being on the water & being in the great outdoors was his most desirable things to do, along with wood working, any kind of carpentry projects, playing pool, racquetball & gathering amongst his people for some true, relaxed down time.

We will keep you alive in our hearts forever. Rest easy amongst calm waters, until we meet again.

If someone should ask me, tell ‘em heaven is
where I’ll be. I’ve finished all my life’s chores &
now I fish on heavens shores.
The view is grand & the fishing’s great, but I yearn
for you as I wait. I’ll save a spot on the river’s
bend, for all those I call family & friend.
But for now, sail out to sea & make a cast in
memory to all the good times you had with me.
Don’t worry or feel sad for me, for I am fishin’
with the master of the sea.
To all those who think of me, be happy as I go to
sea. If others wonder why I’m missin’, just tell ‘em
I’m gone fishin’.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Salmon Arm Ambulance Service, Dr. Kevin Goldberg and the staff at Shuswap Lake General Hospital for their time, care, and compassion.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be sent to Shuswap Lake General Hospital or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
