We will be having a Celebration of Life for friends and family at the Salmon Arm Golf Course (3641 Highway 97B South, Salmon Arm) on Saturday, September 29, 2018, 1 p.m.
With sadness we announce the passing of Kem Scatchard on September 22, 2018. A loving husband, father, son in-law, father in-law, grandfather, friend, teacher, mentor, coach and all around great guy, he will be missed.
Helen and I just read of untimely passing away of Kem, what a surprise. We offer our condolences to all of the family. Many fond memories associated with Hinton Minor Hockey and Grande Cache teams where strong connections were made through coaching and managing. May each of you find strength in each other as the days continue on.

I am sooo sorry to hear the passing of my good fishing buddy. Kem and I spent many a winters day out on Gardom lake ice fishing.He was a great friend and a true gentleman.I’m really going to miss him.

Dear Jan & Family — we were shocked and saddened to hear of Kem’s passing. There are no words to bring you comfort during this time of grief & sorrow. Kem shall be greatly missed by his wonderful cottage family & friends, and for those of us who were lucky enough to become acquainted with him for a small amount of time during the summer holidays. Kem’s love of his family and friends, and his zest for life, especially fishing, were abundant. Our prayer is that this will bring a sense of peace to you all during this difficult journey of loss. Jan, Dave, Heather, Doug and families, we are so very sad to hear of Kem’s passing. Reflecting on so many great memories our families shared while spending summers at Wild Rose Bay. Kem never missed an opportunity to teach the kids to get out on the lake and try new things!
