Smith, Larry

June 4, 1953 – February 1, 2019
at the age of 65 years

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at the Gleneden Hall

Lar gave Cancer the “Smith Stink Eye” and showed us all what you were made of,  wife Deed, children Sonny (Nat) and Sheri, five grandchildren, mother, sisters, brother in laws, nieces, nephews and Lucy are all proud of how you fought.
Lar worked construction his whole life and started his own company in 2007.  He worked hard and played hard.  A cold beer after work and home to his family.  He couldn’t wait until spring every year, oil change, wax job and riding season began, miles and miles of laughs with good friends and family – Sabbath is in good hands, we’ll ride her hard –
Special thanks to Dr. Humphreys, thank you for the time you gave us, Nurses Mike, Allison and Dr. Bonthuys thank you for your kindness to our family.
Until we meet again my friend, “Keep it full throttle, party hardy, rock & roll, F.I.I.Q.

  1. Aunty,Sonny and Sheri,I’m so sorry to hear of your loss.a great man.

  2. Lar…those were the days. We lived for the weekend and then all hell would break loose. Best times ever…..sitting around the fire pounding back beers. You’ were always
surrounded by a great bunch of friends and you always had each other’s backs. Save me a place up there, where you are going, beside the beer fridge of course. Thank God
you hooked up with a wonderful person like Deed. You needed each other to keep each other grounded. You guys were so wild and fun to be around…..Oh and did I mention
how haywire you both were. That’s one of the reasons I love you guys to the moon and back. xox Tom and Kathy

  3. Sorry to hear of Cousin Larry’s passing. Fran let us know and I was in Palm Springs. Will let the rest of the family know. Hopefully we can get to the celebration of life. When Fran and Alex were here in June I found a photo of Larry and I from Woolworths photo booth and Alex scanned it and he said what a good looking dude he was. He was about 11 or 12 maybe and had far less hair on his head and face but am glad he got a laugh out of it. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Bertha and her girls and Larry’s wife and family.Take care. Loved the write up. Loraine ( Smith Nelson from Cranbrook B.C.
