at the age of 70 years:     

A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at Sunnybrae Hall on May 7 at 1-5 PM. All are welcome.

Brenda Spence, 70, of Salmon Arm passed away suddenly at Kelowna General Hospital with her family by her side. She was born to the late John and Hetty Gloyn, November 17, 1952 in Salmon Arm, BC. 

She married Stewart Spence in 1974 and lived in Salmon Arm through the 49 following years. 

She is survived by her husband Stewart, son Tom (Marega, granddaughters Claire and Laurel), son Ed (Julie), sisters Sandra (Bruce), Sharon (Rod) and Joanne (Hermann) and their extended families. 

Brenda worked as a Special Education Assistant in local schools where many people will remember her as a kind and creative mentor. She will be keenly missed by her family (and her grand daughters to whom she was “Granny”) and many close friends.

  1. Gosh, I am so sorry for your loss! I met Brenda through the school district and enjoyed knowing! She was joyful and friendly, with an easy laugh. My condolences to her family and friends.

  4. One of the best CEA’s I’ve had the privilege of working on staff with. Always smiling, always believing the best for each and every student. And ohhh the patience. Nothing but great memories of an amazing woman. She will be missed.

  8. SO tearfully sad and sorry to hear of Brenda’s passing. Many blessings for all who knew and loved Brenda. I remember my middle son Jacob even has many memories from having been over at your house all those years ago when he and your son, Tom were best friends way back in elementary school. SO sadly time waits for no one…. Brenda will forever be here for all of us if we always remember her and that is something I will always do! Much love and memories Always.
