Stewart, Ross Arthur

December 24, 1928 – September 14, 2023
at the age of 94 years:

Ross Arthur Stewart passed away September 14, 2023 at the age of 94. Born in Saskatchewan on December 24,1928, Ross moved with his family to Salmon Arm at the age of 6. He was the third youngest of 8 children, brothers Gerald, Lloyd, Wilbert and Earl, sisters Evelyn, Wilma and Enid, growing up on a dairy farm.

Predeceased by his wife Noreen in 2010, he is survived by daughter Patti (Laurie), son Roger (Jennifer), grandsons Drew and Max, and sister Enid (Urb).

Ross left the family farm after high school, trying stints underground mining and surveying prior to finding his true passion, working with Pink and Sockeye Salmon employed by the International Pacific Salmon Fisheries Commission.

He retired after 38 years, spending time RVing and puttering at his property near the lower Adams River, always accompanied by one of his dogs.

Married to Noreen in 1953, they migrated to the Coast in 1957, settling in Surrey where they raised their family, then much later returning to Chase, then Salmon Arm.

By his specific request, there will not be a funeral service, just interment in the Mount Ida Cemetery with immediate family in attendance.
