at the age of 70 years:

    It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Daniel Michael Sukovieff on Saturday May 14, 2022, at the age of 70 in Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Dan is survived by Darlene, his two sons Dustin of Williams Lake & Darrin of Vernon, his only grandchild Serenity Alexis Rose Sukovieff, brother Leonard (Sandy) sister Louise Rose and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased in death by his parents Mike & Mary, his sister Ann Allan, sister Beverly, and his brother Joe.

Dan was born in Calgary, AB and moved as a young man to the Okanagan where he attended school and grew up with his parents and five siblings.

Dan married Darlene in 1979 and they made their home in Williams Lake. Dan was a hardworking man; after graduation Dan started a career with the Liquor Control Board in Kelowna than transferred to the Liquor Control Board in Williams Lake as an assistant manager. Looking for a new adventure Dan worked as an industrial first aid attendant at Gibraltar Mines.  He went on to the purchasing division at Riverside Forest Products in Williams Lake before moving to Tolko Forest Products in Armstrong. Dan also held the position of field supervisor with Shell Oil in Fort St. John before retiring.

Dan’s happy place was the great outdoors where he enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. He especially enjoyed the annual hunting trips with family and friends and later his two sons. His greatest joy in life is when his sons were born, he now had two new hunting and fishing partners to introduce the vast outdoors to.

Dan will also be missed by his family, friends and those who knew him, but his legacy will live on. There are so many amazing memories to treasure.

A celebration for Dan is scheduled for early September 2022 in Vernon, BC.
