Sundmark, Carl Elof

July 15, 1925 – February 9, 2017
at the age of 91 years

Celebration of Life:  Sunday, April 23, 2017, 2:00 p.m., Canoe Senior’s Hall

We sadly wish to announce the passing of Carl in Shuswap Lake General Hospital at the age of 91 years.
He leaves his wife Anne, sons Brian (Bev), Robert (Cindy), daughters Pat, Marjorie (Roger), many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as his sister Selma (Dick).  He was predeceased by his parents Olaf and Senia, brothers Evert, Erick (Kay) and sisters Evelyn (Ben) and Elsie (Ed).
Carl was born in Carlin, BC and lived most of his life in Canoe.  Carl along with his father started and operated Sundmark and Sons Logging on Larch Hill in the late thirties and early forties.  From there, he worked for Okanagan Telephone and then Okanagan Motors in Vernon.  He then moved back to Canoe where he worked at Federated Co-op Mill helping build the plywood plant and was a Millwright until retiring.
He was an active member of many clubs in the area.  He loved to hunt and fish and will be missed by all that knew him.
Carl’s interment will be in the spring at Mt. Ida Cemetery.

  1. Carl will be sadly missed and remembered by all who were lucky enough to meet him. I loved his smile. No matter what kind of day he was having he was always smiling. We met Carl and Anne many years ago. They came into our resturant in Canoe for supper at least once a week. We spent many hours sitting and chatting of the good old days in Canoe. Our condolences to all his family and many friends.
