TWEED, VERA WFebruary 3, 1921 – December 2, 2013
at the age of 92 years

 

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Vera Caroline Tweed at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC on December 2, 2013, at the age of 92.

Vera was born on February 3, 1921 in Caroline, Alberta. She lived in several different towns before settling in Salmon Arm. She worked for many years for the RCMP Salmon Arm detachment as a matron, as well as a lunch time supervisor at Bastion Elementary. After she FINALLY retired, she spent most mornings and lunches at Carri’s restaurant, having coffee with her friends. She was a kind and loving, wife, mom, grandma and friend who put everyone else before her.

She is survived by her husband of many years, Omar, daughter

Pat (Don) Hindbo, grandchildren, Coady (Beth), Brandon (Kate), Sarah (Jeremy) and great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Lane and Finn. As well as brother Walter (Dorothy) and brother-in-law Harvey.

There will be no service at Vera’s’ request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Variety Children’s Charity.

  1. so sorry to hear of your loss, we always enjoyed vera’s visit’s she was a wonderful lady. i always enjoyed her stopping by, however we missed her once we moved to the other mall..enjoy vera very much and she is missed.

  2. We have lost a good friend!
    Vera was a tireless Bastion School staff member whose love of children was always evident. Her caring and thoughtful ways will be remembered by many.

    I will always remember the Santa suit she made for me so we could entertain the children.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.
    Vera was always to good to us. We enjoyed her so much.
    In our eyes she was a great lady.
