A Beacon of Love and Light
With heavy hearts and a profound sense of gratitude, we bid farewell to Louise Visscher (née Fedorak), a woman whose essence was woven from threads of love, compassion, and unwavering kindness. Born on a bright spring day in Edmonton, Alberta, Louise’s journey through life was marked by an unshakeable devotion to her family, an enduring faith in God, and a capacity for love that knew no bounds.
Louise’s legacy is carried forward by her beloved children: Joanne Guy, Richard Visscher (Sharla), Ken Visscher (Janis), Kathy Schmidt (Steve), and Tammy Smith. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of her sister, Darlene Schoepp, her eleven cherished grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored beyond measure.
Louise’s life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds. Her heart and home were always open, offering a warm embrace or a comforting meal to anyone in need. Her laughter was infectious, her wisdom profound, and her love unconditional.
Together with her loving husband, Dirk, Louise built a life that was rich in joy, laughter, and cherished memories. Their move to Salmon Arm in 1971 marked the beginning of a new chapter, one that saw their family grow and flourish amidst the beauty of the Shuswap.
Beyond her immediate family, Louise touched the lives of many with her generosity of spirit and her unwavering faith. She was a pillar of her community, a friend to all, and a bright light in the lives of many.
As we say goodbye to Louise, we are reminded of the impact one person can have on the world around them. She taught us the value of kindness, the importance of family, and the power of faith. Louise’s most treasured moments were those she shared with her family around the dining table, her care for everyone’s well-being a legacy that will live on in the lives she touched and the love she shared.
We take comfort in knowing that her journey continues in a place of peace and eternal love with God. Her memory will forever be a guiding light in our lives, inspiring us to live with the same infectious joy, compassion, and love.
In honoring Louise’s memory, the family kindly suggests contributions to a cause dear to your heart, in lieu of flowers. This gesture reflects Louise’s lifelong commitment to helping others and making the world a better place.

Dear Family of Louise,
Happening on Louises’ picture and obituary brought memories flooding from the past.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 50 ish years since our short but most meaningful friendship.
I remember singing at her and Dirks 25th (?) at their home on a hill in Salmon Arm.
I think the song was “Story of Love”.
She was everything you wrote in her Obit.
Life continues in its’ cycles but that doesn’t mean when you lose such a loving and lovely mother that the pain is less.
There will be a big hole in your hearts. I hope treasured memories help soften the edges.
Sincerely,
Phyllis Britton
