Welch, Madeleine (Maddie) Ruth

March 27, 1944 – August 29, 2021
at the age of 77 years

A celebration of life will be held at the Sunnybrae Senior’s Hall on September 18, 2021, 2pm.

Maddie was born in England, raised in Windsor, ON and moved to Tappen, BC in 1994.

She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Lyle Story and son Michael Anger.  She is survived by her husband Dave Welch, daughter Jodie St. Antoine, sons Mark Anger, Jeffry Stillman, Daren Anger and their spouses, 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, brother Ian Story, stepdaughters Shauna Kumar, Cassandra Welch and stepson Zachary Welch.

Maddie worked at the Tappen Co-op for 13 years, was on the board of the Tappen Fire Hall Suppression Committee, a member of the Salmon Arm Quilter’s Guild, Salmon Arm Needle Arts and was involved in the Sunnybrae Seniors.  She was always interested in gardening, quilting, knitting, cross stitching and needle point.

A celebration of life will be held at the Sunnybrae Senior’s Hall on September 18, 2021, 2pm.  Donations in her name can be made to the Heart Foundation or the Sunnybrae Senior’s Hall.

  3. So sorry to hear this news. Maddie was one of a kind, and will be missed by so many. Regretfully, we are not able to attend her service, but send our love and deepest sympathy to all her family.

  4. Hi Dave, Wayne here. Linda and I were most shocked to learn just the other day that Maddie had passed away. We only heard last week. Maddie was a stalwart at the Tappen Coop Post Office. She always had a smile on her face and was most helpful to us as newcomers to Sunnybrae.

    We later knew Maddie at the Seniors where she was at the door all the time to meet everyone always with her characteristic smile.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Dave, and your family.
