It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Barb Wellspring – Wood on August 12, 2023 at the age of 81. Barb was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on July 8, 1942. Barb obtained her Nursing Diploma Program at Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, Nova Scotia and her Bachelor of Arts at Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax as well. She went on to have a varied and successful career in her field. She was a very caring and honest person and these traits shine through in the many strong friendships she developed over the years.

Barb, together with her husband Geoff, moved to a property in Tappen over 20 years ago and created a special farm where their talents, love for the land and animals combined to make a remarkable space filled with peace and wonderful memories.  She was a passionate and knowledgeable gardener and had a great love for the animals they cared for on the farm.  Mom loved most of all, the opportunities she had to spend time or connect with her grandchildren.

Barb is predeceased by her husband Geoff.  Barb will be deeply missed by her sons Kevin, Brian and Steven and their families; her stepdaughters Jenny and Thea and their families; her sisters Patricia and Dorothy, her brother Wally and many other family and friends.

Family and friends whose lives have been touched by Barb are invited to come celebrate her life, to reminisce and share.

A Celebration of Barb’s Life will be held Saturday October 7, 2023 @ 2:00 p.m. on the farm property.
