Aunt Luchia, my beloved dear,
To whom I commit these thoughts here.
You prayed for God to bring you home,
Your earthly body never more to roam.
The priest, he came to give Last Rites,
Absolution given; Heaven in your sights.
We, left behind, wish your soul God-speed,
You cried to the heavens; He felt your need.
Please remember us as we remember you,
With laughter and joy and love so true.
God brought you to your place of rest,
We knew you in life and we were blessed.
My thanks to our Lord for hearing your plea,
And giving eternal life to thee.
