It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Carolyn, in Vernon, B.C., after a sudden illness.
Carolyn was born in Victoria, B.C., and was raised in remote and beautiful parts of British Columbia. Wherever she lived, she was known for her good nature and her interest in sports, especially horses and softball, and music. She is remembered as the one who taught her cousins how to play ball, and her sister to jive, to mention just a couple of memories shared by family.
Music was ever-present in Carolyn’s life, from her early years harmonizing with her mom and sister, to enjoying her children’s voices in school concerts and later, through her enjoyment of Karaoke. She made some great friends and had some good times while singing her heart out.
Carolyn’s greatest passion in life was her family ~ from the birth of her first child to that of her youngest great-grandson, she found joy in being a part of each of their lives.
Life wasn’t always easy for Carolyn. We don’t recall ever hearing her complain…she persevered, intent on living her life to the fullest extent possible. A few years ago, after dealing with dialysis for about five years, she became an incredibly thankful renal transplant survivor. Shortly thereafter she was mobile again, visiting family wherever they lived, as often as she could.
Carolyn is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Darryl, Deanna, Boyd and Bryan (Lisa), ex-husband and longtime friend, Phil, sister Shirley (Gerald), sister-in-law Ingrid, grandchildren Leanne (Brett), Nadine (Andrew) , Brantly, Curt, Shane, Danica, Rylan, and great-grandchildren Daelynn, Brielle, Glory and Xavier, niece Rachel (Evan) and nephews Arion and Peter, and many cousins. Carolyn was predeceased by her mother, Norma and step-father Peter, brother, Terry and grandson, Bryce.
