With a song in her heart, as the hummingbird flies, beautiful Geraldine “Gerry” O’Reilly, at the age of ninety-one-derful, was embraced by the angels; daughter Shawn, parents Kathryn and Ilarion, Sister Victoria, Brothers Alec, Pete, and Ollie on November 13, 2019. Survived by daughters Christine (Gregory), Pamela (Carey), and Marianne, dear family friend Barbara, grandchildren Eldon (Arlana), Trevor, Bryon, Tyler, Aaron (Cynthia), ThiKieuMy “Mia”, and Matthew; great-grandchildren Aiden, Christian, Matthew, Zelda, and baby Micah.
Long-time best friend Andy loved Gerry and their adventures together.
Gerry absolutely loved life. After retiring from nursing and caring for her husband of 41 years Melvin, she relocated to Sicamous and started a new life in the arts. Gerry took lessons in Ukrainian Easter egg art, off-loom weaving, acting, tai chi, yoga, philosophy, choir, and became a senior performer at the prestigious Red Barn, member of the Sicamous Arts Council, and supporter of the Church. She was a shining light on a cloudy day; a beacon of positivity, warmth, and generosity.
There will be an afternoon tea service for Gerry at the Sicamous Seniors Center, Sunday November 24th at 1:00 pm. The family appreciates all the kindness and prayers. We extend our gratitude to the staff at Mount Ida Mews. Very special thanks to Dr. Jack Beech. Donations can made in Gerry’s honour to support arts programs in your local community.
“We love you, a bushel and a peck. You bet your pretty neck we dooo.” We love and miss you dear Mama.
