May 27, 1949 – March 30, 2025
at the age of 75 years:
A celebration of life will be held 3:30pm on May 31st, 2025 at the Sicamous Senior’s Centre. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen Ernest Hyam, who left us on March 30th, 2025, at the age of 75. Born in Enderby, BC, on May 27th, 1949, Stephen spent most of his life in Sicamous, BC, where he raised his family and built the business that he would eventually retire from. Steve was a beloved father to Jennifer (Jason) and Ross (Lise), and grandfather to Carolyn (Sydney), Ian, Jayne, Graham, Isabella, and Andrew. He was also a friend to many, best known for his quiet and generous nature. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Steve’s life was marked by his love for his family and the joy he had fishing, skiing, and puttering around his cabin. After a long battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully at his home in Sicamous, BC, surrounded by the people he loved. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
It was a shock when I heard of Steve’s passing. A very fair and good person and always enjoyed the lunch hours at the station. He will be missed by the many that knew him. Rest in peace my friend.
We are very saddened to hear that Steve has passed away. He fought a long and difficult battle in a fight that no one wins. He was a good man. You have earned your rest. Our condolances to Jack, Sharon and the family.
