at the age of 77 years:
With deep sadness and profound love, we announce the peaceful passing of Lesley Marilyn Lockerby, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, partner, and friend, at the age of 77 following a brief illness.
A long-time resident of Sicamous, B.C., Lesley called the community home for over 55 years. For the past decade, she also embraced a second home in Mesa, Arizona, where she spent her winters enjoying the sunshine, friendships, and an active lifestyle. Whether walking the scenic paths or enthusiastically playing pickleball, Lesley found joy and connection in the simple pleasures of daily life.
Lesley is lovingly remembered by her partner Frank; her children, Bruce (Ragan) and Tricia (Ken); and her beloved grandchildren, Taylor, Paige, and Hudson, who were the true lights of her life. She is also survived by her dear brother, Bob (Liz), and many extended family members and friends whose lives she touched with kindness and creativity.
An adventurous spirit, Lesley had a passion for travel and exploration, always returning home with stories, souvenirs, and inspiration for her many creative projects. A gifted and thoughtful artist, she especially enjoyed book cutting and crafting heartfelt, handmade items. Her cozy knit slippers became a signature gift of comfort and care, treasured by all who received them.
Lesley’s gentle presence, radiant smile, and joyful laugh brought warmth to every room she entered. She was happiest surrounded by loved ones, whether sharing a meal, enjoying a quiet crafting afternoon, or recounting tales from her latest travels. Her legacy is one of love, creativity, and connection. At Lesley’s request, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of B.C., or that you honor her memory by engaging in a creative activity or going for a walk in nature—something she would have deeply appreciated. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
If Merv had a kindred spirit, it was his cousin Leslie. Our family shared many happy summer days in Sicamous, with your family. We enjoyed hosting Leslie & Frank on their journeys across the prairies. We will always cherish those memories & are so sad to learn that Leslie has passed away. Our condolences to you all.

Leslie was one of my Mom’s best friends and we considered Leslie and her Family members of our family. She will be missed by many people.
We are heartbroken to hear this news of our dear friend Leslie.
My Mom and I owned the salon beside her workplace for many years and seen Leslie on a daily basis, plus Leslie was also one of my favorite and long standing clients thru out my career… I always booked a little extra time just to visit with her as we had such a lovely time just sharing , talking and of course laughing! Leslie has truly been an inspiration in so many ways, always had the most fashionable clothes and great smile/laugh,so active! And,when I lost my Mom I was also the lucky recipient of one of her cherished cut books that I want to share with you…it says…
’ Her Wings were ready and our hearts were not…‘ ❤️
No truer words…
My parents also enjoyed many bbqs and social gatherings with Frank and Leslie over the years and hearing all the stories of their southern trips .My Mom was also a Sorority Sister and had many interesting experiences together… Leslie was always so encouraging for me after my Mom passed, I and I am so thankful for her thoughtfulness….
