Ed died in Salmon Arm BC of complications after a 3 year struggle with ALS. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Sherry; his sisters Anita and Elaine; his brother Vince (Michelle); his daughters Dolly (Dave), Toni (James) and son Gene (Christine); 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren as well as many cousins, nephews and nieces. We are extremely grateful for the exceptional care from the Shuswap Community Care Nursing Aids, the staff and doctors of Shuswap Lake General Hospital and especially the ALS Society, CAYA and BCITS for the loan of
all the equipment, communication devises and respiratory aids that kept him in comfort and communication with his family and friends.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this time of loss. Only learned yesterday about Ed and we often think of you and the fun times we had together. Life takes many avenues and contact is lost. I wish we had stayed in touch more often. With all our love Lou and Shar
So sorry for your loss Sherry. I have fond memories of our camping trips, birthdays social gatherings as a child. Dad and Ed were great fishing buddies. You and Ed were a great couple. Please take care of yourself and embrace your wonderful family. God Bless.

As a hospice worker I had many wonderful hours spent with Ed reminiscing of his life and adventures . Ed was an avid (and ethical ) hunter and outdoorsman who loved the open back roads of Vancouver Island . Sherry and Ed have spent many hours in public service as well . I will miss Ed’s many stories of coastal logging , fishing and history . We never ran out of things to talk about , and always with Ed’s great sense of humor . His illness never got him down . Ed was certainly my inspiration and I always looked forward to being there Friday mornings with him .

Our sincerest condolences, Sherry, on the loss of Ed. Although we didn’t know Ed really well he was energetic, welcoming and had a great sense of humour. There is no denying that this is a very difficult time for you but at least his suffering is over. Hopefully that is a comfort for you as I’m sure all of your memories of him are soothing.
