Mom passed away at her home at Shuswap Lodge in Salmon Arm. Born in Hamilton, Adrienne married Gerald Holmes and had three children, Stephen (Michelle), Stuart, and Elizabeth. She was a caring mother and a successful real estate agent. Mom had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed acting in amateur theatre productions. She became a grandmother to Brittany and Zachary by her daughter, Elizabeth, and recently a great-grandmother to Lily Belle.
For the past twenty-eight years Adrienne lived in Salmon Arm near her sons. During that time, Nana enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, Shayna, Isaac and Jacob Holmes. In 2015 Mom suffered a stroke which greatly curtailed her active social life and limited her speech.
Her family is so grateful to the care aides and staff of Shuswap Lodge for their loving support over the years, especially over this last challenging month. We also thank Dr. Heunis for his attentiveness, the Community Care nurses and care aides who saw her through her last days, Lakeside Medical, and Rev. David Ryttersgaard.
She wants people who knew and loved her to rejoice that she is now free of her earthly limitations and is home with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Her funeral service will be held at Crossroads Free Methodist Church on Saturday, March 11th at 11:00 a.m. Contributions to her memory may be made to the ALS Society.
