It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Dave Allan McDonald, who left us peacefully on August 28, 2025 at the age of 82.
Dave was born on June 13, 1943 in Prince Rupert, BC and grew up with a strong sense of family, community and hard work that shaped his entire life. In his hometown of Trail, BC was where he met and married Marg. They were married for 49 years and had 3 children, Karen (Jamie), Scott and Brad (Jeanette). While their time together was in different locations in BC, love, laughter and community was the cornerstone of the home. While Marg faced challenges in her later years, Dave was devoted to her care until she passed away in 2015.
Later, he was blessed to find the love, companionship and joy again with Marguerite, his life partner for the last 17 years. Together they shared a wonderful life, travelling, camping and creating new memories with family and friends. There were many unrealized dreams they both had planned.
Dave’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his children Karen, Scott and Brad, Marguerite and son Mike, sisters Janet, Cathy, Julie (Jean) and his beloved grandchildren Solomon, Brianna, Chris, Josh, Hannah and Emily.
Dave had a wide circle of friends, who also meant the world to him. He was a loving, generous and caring man and will be dearly missed.
Dave’s celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, 1 – 3pm, at the Creekside Senior’s Centre, 542 Shuswap Avenue, Chase, BC, lunch will be provided. If you are wishing to make a donation, please send it to the BC Cancer Society in memory of Dave McDonald.
